WHAT ARE ANSI Z87+ SAFETY GLASSES?
ANSI Z87+ Safety Glasses are glasses that have been rated by the American National Standards Institute to meet the high-velocity eyewear impact requirements.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANSI Z87.1 AND Z87+ SAFETY GLASSES?
ANSI Z87.1 is the general safety standard used to denote whether a pair of glasses meet general safety requirements. Z87+ denotes that a pair of safety glasses is high impact rated.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET PRESCRIPTION SAFETY GLASSES FROM GLASSES CANADA?
Generally, it takes between 7-10 business days from the date of order to the shipping date. Certain coatings and additional items may delay this time, but if it is going to take longer, one of our Customer Service Representatives will reach out to you.
DO PRESCRIPTION SAFETY GLASSES HAVE TO BE STAMPED Z87?
Glasses must be stamped with Z87+ if they are high impact rated AND Z87.1 for general safety. Otherwise, they only need to be marked with the manufacturers' mark. Detachable side shields will be marked separately from the main lenses.
DO PRESCRIPTION SAFETY GLASSES EXPIRE?
Prescription safety glasses do not expire, however constant, hard wear may cause frames to break or need repair over time. Furthermore, as you age, your eyes will change and your prescription may increase. In this case, we can remake the lenses for your safety glasses so that you don’t need to buy a new frame.

WHAT ARE PRESCRIPTION SAFETY GLASSES LENSES MADE WITH?
Safety Lenses are made of a variety of materials including Polycarbonate, Trivex, High Index 1.67 and 1.74, and even Standard Glass. When purchasing your glasses, you will be given a list of options for lens material, coatings, prescriptions, etc. If you want to know more about a specific material, or its properties, please reach out to one of our Customer Service Representatives. Only Polycarbonate and Trivex meet the Z87+ High Impact Standards all other materials are General Z87.1 approved
CAN YOU WEAR TINTED PRESCRIPTION SAFETY GLASSES?
Yes, though which tints can be applied will depend on the material that you select for your lenses. We offer a variety of tinting options and colours, including a wide selection of Transitions, which can be added at the time of purchase, along with scratch-resistant, and anti-fog coatings.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE FOR PRESCRIPTION SAFETY GLASSES
No, we do not accept insurance, however, you still may be able to get reimbursed through your insurance company. In order to do so, we can supply you with an itemized receipt and invoice which you then can provide to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
